A steering committee of concerned citizens and city staff proposed development of
the Chaska Community Land Trust as a vehicle for this vision to be realized.
The Chaska Community Land Trust incorporated as a separate non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in September 2002.
With an independent Board of Directors composed of volunteers from throughout the community.
A vision for the future...
Chaska's population is projected to be more than 30,000 in the next decade. Anticipating this growth
and valuing diversity of housing for citizens at all stages of their life.
The Chaska City Council made a commitment to 'life cycle housing', including affordable housing
Chaska City Council amended the City's 2020 Comprehensive Plan to require the provision of affordable
AND "permanently affordable" housing in new developments.
